Turn your land into a food forest that feeds you for years to come

Without it taking over your life

Start with one small guild you can understand, plant, and repeat. Then grow your land into a beautiful, productive, low-maintenance food forest one step at a time.

Inside The One Guild Food Forest guide, you’ll learn what to plant first, where to begin, and how to start building a beautiful, productive food forest without getting lost in endless research or second-guessing every decision.

You want a food forest

but it feels more complicated than it should

You may already have the vision in your head.

A beautiful food forest where you can step outside, harvest fresh food from your own land, and see it become more abundant year after year.

Not by spending every spare hour trying to keep it going.

But by building something that grows stronger as it matures.

That is the dream.

But when you actually try to begin, it can get confusing fast.

Suddenly, this beautiful idea turns into a pile of questions. What should you plant first? Where should things go? What should grow around your trees? How do you make it work with your soil, wind, water, animals, spacing, and climate?

Before long, the dream of a beautiful, productive food forest starts to feel like another overwhelming project.

But what if there was a simpler way to get started?

You do not need to design the whole property at once.

You do not need to understand every plant, every layer, and every possible combination before you begin.

You just need one clear starting point.

The One Guild Method

Start with one working piece. Then let the bigger food forest take shape.

A food forest does not have to begin with a perfect whole-property plan.

It can begin with one tree, a small group of helpful plants around it, and one simple guild you can actually understand.

Once that first piece is working, you are no longer staring at the whole property wondering what to do next.

You have your first system in the ground.

Something you can learn from.

Something you can build on.

And when you repeat that same approach, one planting at a time, your food forest starts to take shape naturally over time.

With the One Guild Method, you’ll:

Know exactly where to begin

Start with one clear planting, so you know what to do first, where to put it, and how it connects to the bigger food forest you want to create.

Create something beautiful and intentional

Build with structure from the beginning, so your land can become lush, productive, and alive without turning into a messy jungle.

Grow more food without creating more work

Create a living system that becomes stronger as it matures, giving you more harvests over time without demanding every spare hour of your life.

Get clear direction for your land

If you want help applying this to your own land, I offer personalized consulting and design support for food forests, gardens, and whole-property planning.

That can be as simple as a one-hour consultation to work through a specific challenge, or a full design package covering layout, planting strategy, and phased implementation.

The goal is to help you stop guessing and move forward with a plan that fits your land, your climate, your goals, and the amount of time you actually have.

Hi, I'm Moreno.

I created The Forest Gardener to help you start your food forest in a way that feels clear, practical, and doable.

I’ve planted food forests in three different climates, run a no-dig market garden in France, built a permaculture-inspired homestead in Portugal, and planted well over 3,000 trees along the way.

These days, I’m building my third food forest in the Azores, where I spend most of my time planting trees, starting seeds, moving mulch, harvesting fruit, and eating whatever looks ready before the birds get to it.

What I teach comes from planting, mistakes, observation, and the belief that a food forest should feed you, fit your life, and become more productive over time without consuming every spare hour you have.

Some people might call that lazy.

To me, that is what good design is supposed to do.

My goal is to help you build a beautiful, productive food forest one clear step at a time.
